What a let down!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Blackjack @ 10:09 pm

Navigated my way to the FFT website tonight and got REALLY excited to see the announcement that our Socceroos were going to have a rematch of their pre-world cup match against the Netherlands. Brilliant I though…bit of an early announcement though…gee, June!!! and it’s not even 2007 yet.

…and the A-League was coming back too!!!

Wow, what a ground breaking bit of news all this was…

Oops, FFT glitch. We are looking at a website from nearly twelve months ago. Is this a case of ‘Back to the Future’??

What a let down!!!

Congratulations FFT

Accolades must go to FFT for managing to get dates into the Mercury’s 2007 Sports Calendar.

I know I must appear very critical of FFT at times but credit where credit is due. I just hope FFT can go on to include many of the other significant dates on the FFT calendar in future.

Well done Martin & staff.   :-P

North v South or Final Five Series

Filed under: Uncategorized — Blackjack @ 10:21 pm

Ok, the clubs had their say last year and they chose (by majority vote) to suspend the South Final Five series and in response FFT has reintroduced the North v South series.

Which do you prefer and why?

Did you attend any of the North v South matches? What was your impressions of the standard?

One down…

It appears that the new compulsory coaching accreditation requirements has claimed it’s first victim. University have had to “put on hold” the appointment of Ric Peterson as the senior coach according to Walter Pless on the FFT website.

University were obviously pleased with Peterson’s appointment yet FFT’s directorate dictates that University can’t appoint who they want and Peterson can’t hold a job he wants.

Does anyone else get the sense of BIG BROTHER in all of this??

Uni must be entitled to appoint who they want. If the appointment proves to be unwise through poor coaching or players leaving the club in droves, then they must act. FFT should have no right to interject in this appointment.

Is this not a democracy in which we live?

Not happy FFT!!!

Should clubs be permitted to have a team in both Premier & Div.1 Competitions?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Blackjack @ 4:33 pm

I’m going to hand this one over to you. I’m not going to offer an opinion (see miracle DO happen!!). But rather than get into a slanging match Premier v Div.1, can we construct our arguements into positive and productive points. Come up with solutions as it were…
