Can someone please confirm, That Craig Jones has been asked to play in goals for Newtown Eagles. I know they are going bad in the keeper area, but I think he may be a tad old??? Is this true. Oh my god……

Rhodes is a definite starter at Taroona, that will leave Glenorchy Knights & Kingborough Lions without ‘confirmed’ coaches for 2007.

Perhaps a touch of irony in the teams that finish 1 & 2 for the past two seasons don’t have confirmed coaches.

Since i left had to rely on Walter’s column - news reports for all the latest in Tas Football , good to see real people having the balls to put their names to articles,.

Got to put in a word for sparky, as a player I was lucky enough to have a bloke like him take me under his wing, as yet sparky has not done great things as a coach, but superman GUS wouldn’t have lifted any trophies with the teams sparky has had either. if sparky can keep hold of his current crop (tex and the like) then eagles may just show some form of the nighties in a year or too.

Update on Smithy the broken down old Pom who has a heap in common with a bunch of Italian’s , spoke to Zebras committee man last week whilst he was in Tassie on leave , he did consider coming back to Tasie , but not unless he had a full time job and yes if he had found a job time permitting would have taken on the Zebras job.

Nick Lapolla has been appointed coach for 2007.
