This landed on my desk the other day and I have often hear players berating club officials about having to pay rego fees that are considered exorbitant. So here for your consideration is a break down of how you fees are paid to FFT.
Adult Male over 18
Insurance $8 , National Reg Fee $12.00 ,
FFT Admin Fee $ 70.00, Team Nomination Fee $120. Total $210.
Under 17 to 19
Insurance $8 , National Reg Fee $5.60 ,
FFT Admin Fee $ 61.40, Team Nomination Fee $120. Total $195
Senior Women over 18
Insurance $8 , National Reg Fee $12.00 FFT
Admin Fee $ 70.00 Team Nomination Fee $65. Total $155
Women under 17/18
Insurance $8 , National Reg Fee $5.60 FFT
Admin Fee $ 61.40 Team Nomination Fee $65. Total $140.
Juniors under 13 to 16
Insurance $8 , National Reg Fee $5.60
FFT Admin Fee $ 11.40 Team Nomination Fee $40.00 Total $65.

Would anyone like to inform the footballing public as to what may have taken place at the AGM last night? That is if a quorum was actually reached so the AGM could go ahead.

IT’S HERE…
and bigger than Ben Hur or a Spielberg movie
That’s right, the Southern Tas. Premier League Tipping Competition is here…
But this is no run of the mill tipping comp. It is special in more ways than one.
I have to offer a huge vote of thanks to Tommy Fotak, who wrote the original programme (The Tippernator V1.0) and has allowed us to use it. Tommy a huge vote of thanks for your kindness and generosity. And the plebian administrator Will (who shall otherwise remain nameless…a bit like Superman!!) who has worked with Tommy is setting up the programme so that it will run with the Blackjack Blog. You guys are brilliant.
I am still waiting on someone to come up with a suitable prize for the overall winner. This would be a fantastic opportunity to gain some expose for your thriving business. N.B. At this stage there is NOT a weekly prize, contrary to what the ‘tippernator’ rules state. Of course, if someone would like to donate a weekly prize….
SO GET TIPPING!!! and invite friends, family members and clubmates.
You have until 12 NOON on FRIDAY to get your tips in for the first round of matches.
Tips will close each and every Friday at 12 noon.
You can start by registering HERE

This blog has been going since late November and has seen a steady increase in the nmber of people frequenting the avenues and hallways of the blog. February saw a big jump in the number of ‘hits’ on the site and by the end of the month all records had been broken. This is all very predictable as February would see most teams in training, summer cup starting, etc. So it was no real surprise to see just over 40,000 hits in the month.
From late February everything went NUTS.
We still have a week to go in the calendar month but I am enormously proud to say that we have had 105,370 hits on the site in the first 24 days of the month. This equates statistically to over 5,000 individual visits with some 51,000 pages viewed.
I find this simply amazing and speaks volumes for how desperate Tasmanian’s are to talk about football and how it should be run. At this stage the blog really only services the South of the State and I’d like to know how we can better service our friends in the North & North West.
So stand up and give yourselves a congratulatory pat on the back, for it is you, the Tasmanian football public, who has grown this site into what I think is a very worthwhile and useful product. I hope you agree.
I welcome input on how to improve the site or ideas to make it more accessible. This site is for EVERYONE!!! (even FFT personnel if they care to use it).

At a meeting of the 10 Premier League Clubs last night, on a vote of 8-2, the South Premier League will be reduced to 8 teams next year. But the league will be retained in it’s current three tier league rather reduced to the two proposed by the FFT board.
Division 1 will be required to mirror the Premier League by introducing a third tier which will presumably be either U/19 or U/17.
Needless to say, this will create some headaches and anguish for 2-3 teams in ensuring they avoid the drop into Div.1
The only question I have to ask (for now) is, will the 8 team southern league teams be made up by their 2007 finishing position (positions 9 & 10 relegated with maybe position 8 playing off with 1st Div.1 team) or will it be by meeting a set criteria??
For Div.1 will the SPL clubs be excluded (South Hobart & Kingborough)??
Thoughts??

This is the new discussion area for matters that pertain to football but don’t come under a posted discussion topic.
If your topic dosn’t relate to football put it under the NON-football discussion.

Football is a sport where the health and well being of all participants is paramount. So why can’t the spectators sit in the stands without some inconsiderate person lighting up some filthy stinking weed and having it drift all over you?
The risk factors associated with second hand smoke is well documented so there is no excuse for having to put up with it.
I believe very strongly that FFT, the clubs, local councils (at council owned grounds), or a combination of all three, need to impose a complete ban on smoking at all sporting venues, especially at junior fixtures. If patrons want to smoke they should be able but only outside the grounds.
Football is a healthy sport so lets keep it that way. I’m sure I’m not the only person who thinks this way.
