A meeting was held last night between club representatives, FFT (board/office), etc.
I believe the meeting has been fruitful but it also went through an interesting process to arrive at a meeting of the minds.
I am aware that an alternative league structure was put forward to the meeting and it lead to some fascinating discussions. As this meeting involves the playing welfare of all players in (Southern) Tasmania it might be worthwhile discussing this meeting and it’s agenda. Can anyone enlighten put forward the crux of this meeting but especially the new league structure?

My favourite blogger Jesse Fink is at it again and raises some poignant points on the prospect of Gérard Houllier taking over the rein of the Australian National team.
Have a read
I’ll be interested to read your feedback.

As part of the A-League fixture between Adelaide United & Melbourne Victory in Launceston on 15th July, FFT will be required to put on a fixture as a ‘curtain-raiser’ to the A-League match.
Who or what should this fixture entail? Have your input and let FFT know what you want to see as a curtain raiser.
Is there any other type of entertainment you would like to see?

I have received a letter from Martin Shaw and have attached for your information;
A number of clubs have been in contact with me regarding ticketing details or the A-League Pre-Season Cup match in Launceston on July 15th. Full ticketing details will be sent to you shortly once they have been confirmed by Melbourne Victory.
However, in order to help with your club’s planning for the day, I can confirm the following details:
- All players who are registered with a club and are Under 13 years of age will receive a free ticket to attend the match. These tickets will be distributed to clubs through the junior associations, or directly to the clubs for Under 13 teams directly affiliated with FFT.
- Melbourne Victory will offer FFT clubs the opportunity to purchase tickets in bulk at a reduced price. An order form will be distributed by FFT to all clubs and associations shortly (once details have been confirmed by MV). Prices for purchase through the bulk ticket offer (minimum purchase of 20 tickets) are:
Adult: $10.00
Concession: $5.00 – Concession includes full time students, pensioners and unemployed.
Child (Under 13): $2.50
Should clubs wish to purchase in bulk for their members at this reduced price they will need to provide the completed form to Melbourne Victory by Friday June 29th.
- Tickets will go on public sale on June 19th. Ticket prices, if purchased through this avenue will be :
Adult: $15.00
Concession: $10.00
Child (Under 13): $2.50
I hope that your club is able to support the day by encouraging as many members as possible to attend the game. Melbourne Victory have done their part by making ticket prices as affordable as possible – just $10.00 for an adult is great value to watch the last year’s two Grand Final teams. A strong attendance will not only encourage Melbourne Victory to return on an annual basis, but also highlight the growing popularity of football in Tasmania to government leaders, media and FFA officials. A large and enthusiastic crowd at this high profile event will help enormously in this process.
I hope to see you and many of your members in Launceston for an exciting day’s football.

This footage was shown on SBS last weekend. I would appreciate your thought on this concept and ask if it should be introduced by all junior associations and if so, under what time frame.
