U19 Competition
Should the U19 competition be strictly reserved for clubs that field Premier & Premier Reserve squads or should it be open to all comers?

With great respect I thought we had thrashed this one to death . I recall being taken to task for presenting a series of differing poinbts of view depending on which chair one was occupying .
If you are a Premier league Club . No it upsets the weekends arrangements . If you are non Premier yes as it gives your emerging talent a better class comp than Div 1 or Div 1 res .
If you are FFT and want easy administration go with the Premiers , if you think it will benefit soccer in the long run go with the Div1 Clubs .

I need to have a bit of a rant…
I think we have to start getting over the misconception that Tasmanian football is a two teered structure consisting of Premier League & Division 1, with both being on an equal footing in terms of development.
Premier League is the pinnacle of Tasmanian football (good or bad). End of story. If there are kids who are playing with Div.1 clubs who want to play at the highest level in Tasmania they have two choices;
1. Go and play with a Premier League club, or
2. Hope their current club can achieve promotion to the Premier League
There is no point in trying to inject developing players into the premier league through an u19 competition whilst still playing with a div.1 team.
Let’s stop this pretentious crap that Div.1 is on the same level as the Premier League while trying to develop and arguement as to why up and coming players from Div.1 should be treated equally to the Premier League youngsters. It just isn’t true.
If you want to play at the highest level align yourself with a Premier League club or continue hoping, praying and wishing.
End of rant.

U19’s for div 1 clubs is a fantasy. The better u19 players will be capable of playing at Div 1 level anyway. Far better to have a compulsory U17 side for all div 1 clubs so that a pronmoted club can fit into the three tier structure once promoted.
The dislocation to last seasons roster (and club harmony) was disporportionate to any possible benefit to one club.
The only benefit was possibly for the state U15’s who learnt how to compete against faster and larger opponents.
In short as the benefits of incl div1 clubs are minor - restrict the comp to premier clubs.
