New Player Regulations

Filed under: Uncategorized — Blackjack @ 10:38 pm

Just wanted to get some feedback from the clubs on how they are coping with the new player regulations. I am especially interested to hear what people are doing to manage the extra paper work but also any contingency plans in managing player movements in and out of the clubs. Are all clubs enforcing the ‘No pay, no play’ (full rego payment before getting on the park) regulation or are you managing in other ways.

  1. Whilst our coaches are paid, we’re finding the committee members who are not are now putting in double the hours of anyone else in the club - as usual, for no recognition as players simply dont realise how time consuming the whole process is. We are definitely enforcing the NO PAY NO PLAY rule [unlike knights, we can't afford to 'sponsor' players registration :) ]

  2. Are we all aware how the rego system works ?

In yesteryear we signed players on and delivered the forms and money to Mr Stoddart’s house in Glenorchy.

Then we made regular vsits to Soccer House where the Soccer Tas staff entered the appropriate data

With the passage of time we moved from quill, ink and paper to the electronic system .

I gather from our rego secretary that the ” keypunching” is done our end and we then download the data into the FFT and ultimately the FFA system. On being shown the spreadsheet last night I found there were a potential 54 fields per player to be either checked or completed . Our club has a potential 5 adult sides , under 19 ,three womens sides plus say 6/7 juniors. A lot of typing.

My question is ” Is the data checked on receipt or accepted providing it has escaped any edits?

If so what do the FFT staff now find to do if Club personnel complete the Registation procedure and during the season enter the scores.

  3. Ah Brian , you have just realised that club volunteers ( note that means people who work for the love of the game , no cash) now do all the work FFT with a junior - senior comp manager- CEO , Finance manager, and rego secretary (not volunteers)do all the work.
When you were president how many people were employed ?
Who actually takes all the money ? lets get ffa and fft tell us their take !!

As a club volunteer - we tried this week to sign our players !!!! do we need to take a photo >? who knows - not kenneth he is still getting back to us !!

    What a shambles !!!

  4. we should be taking photos for the player cards, this would stop premier league clubs from stacking their teams every week!

  5. You need a passport size photo except when you go to paste on to the detachable segment the photo is too large so you have to trim it .

For ID purposes You need a drivers licence or passport or birth certificate , interesting to see what happens when extracts of birth are submitted .

We scan this info into our club Computer.

You then have to laminate the players card .

Then you have to collect the Annual fees.

Then you key punch the data then submit the rego.
    I think that’s all .

  6. SENT OFF From memory we had David ,Neil and Dale , a partime accountant and one or two girls whose names escape me They entered the team sheets, scores , player registrations and all the other jobs.

Strictly from memory may not be wholly accurate . Why not ask Smithy ?

  7. Re the registration procedure.
Step 1 Prior to the season FFT download to each club a spreadsheet containing last year’s data.
    Step 2.

  8. What happened .

Step 2 The Club rego or asst rego scretary inputs the required fields and also checks that the existing information is correct . ( see 17/2/2007 above)

Step 3 You insert REGISTER in field 1 and download the entire spreadsheat to FFT . This is the procedure whether you register 1 person or 50.

Step 4 You have to pay FFT for the down loaded batch of registratioins within 3 or 4 days .( I think)

Step 5. The above procedures are repeated until you have registered your squads of players .

Step 6 Then sort out the paper work . One copy for the club, one for the player two for FFT and FFA.

Step 7. If during the year you wish to alter one digit in the spreadsheet you have to down load the data in its entirety.

My comment is I hope the rego secretaries are on unlimited Broadband, and they have a faster machine than mine .
The other point is if you have a lot of traffic who pays for the excess traffic bill .

I doubt if the creators of the scheme thought of that.

for the current batch of registrations .I think
