2007 Tas. Southern Premier League Tipping

Filed under: Uncategorized — Blackjack @ 1:22 pm

IT’S HERE…

and bigger than Ben Hur or a Spielberg movie

That’s right, the Southern Tas. Premier League Tipping Competition is here…

But this is no run of the mill tipping comp. It is special in more ways than one.

I have to offer a huge vote of thanks to Tommy Fotak, who wrote the original programme (The Tippernator V1.0) and has allowed us to use it. Tommy a huge vote of thanks for your kindness and generosity. And the plebian administrator Will (who shall otherwise remain nameless…a bit like Superman!!) who has worked with Tommy is setting up the programme so that it will run with the Blackjack Blog. You guys are brilliant.

I am still waiting on someone to come up with a suitable prize for the overall winner. This would be a fantastic opportunity to gain some expose for your thriving business. N.B. At this stage there is NOT a weekly prize, contrary to what the ‘tippernator’ rules state. Of course, if someone would like to donate a weekly prize…. :-)

SO GET TIPPING!!! and invite friends, family members and clubmates.

You have until 12 NOON on FRIDAY to get your tips in for the first round of matches.

Tips will close each and every Friday at 12 noon.

You can start by registering HERE

  1. Rules have been updated to reflect the lack of weekly prize and to show the new submission cutoff time.

Here are some hints as to how it works; the club is like a mini forum. The ladder shows combined stats, home stats and away stats. The form guide shows a teams form over their last five games, and their last 5 home and last 5 away games - not really so relevant in our comp, but for the EPL it can be interesting. The tippers form is the percentage of games you’ve tipped correctly over the last 5 weeks. The compare feature allows you to compare your tips with any other tipster only after the week has closed. The weekly winner is a bit redundant but you can see how people are performing on a week by week basis and the leaderboard is just that, shows everyone’s total score. If you’re name doesn’t appear in the weekly winner list for a week it’s because you didn’t/haven’t submitted tips for that week. The skinning thing was something I did when I was bored in the office, it allows you to skin the pages with your EPL teams’ colours and logo, again not so relevant here.

    Good luck all.
