NORTHWEST TASMANIAN SOCCER ASSOCIATION .
THIS IS A PERSONAL PROJECT.
CAN YOU ALL PASS THE MESSAGES ON TO THE LOCAL SCRIBES AND SENIOR MEMBERS OF YOUR SOCCER CLUBS .
BOTH ASSOCIATIONS CLOSED THEIR DOORS WHEN SOCCER TAS CAME INTO BEING .

Very very quiet up this end of the state !.
Where are all those bloggers from a couple of weeks ago particularly all those correspondents from Rangers and Burnie. Have the clubs imposed a media/blog ban (only joking ! ) or is the logging in now required just a bit too complicated ?
On with the tips.
Ulverstone 1 Lonny City 2 - Old Roger nods in a late winner.
Lonny Utd 1 Riverside 3 - Lonny competitive but not enough good players
Knights 2 Rangers 1 - Winning form is good form.
Somerset 3 Devonport 1 - Sharks hungry again ?.
Surely someone will have contrary views to my tips and will tell me why !

exprez you’re probably not to far from the truth but it most definitely a self imposed ban. I think a few people can bear having their egos reined in.
We’ll just keep thing rolling along for now and monitor the situation.

I bet they still read the blog BJ ?
I remember you having a not so subtle dig at me a few weeks ago for mentioning a rival football code in a post but my ego wasn’t mortally wounded !
Keep up the good work. Until this blog came along it was bloody difficult to know what was going on around the state, both north and south, either rumour or fact…. or to get scores from all the leagues.
There, …. I’ve boosted your ego !

If someone from Launceston United is reading the blog can you go into Wikepedia and correct the section on the Steve Hudson Cup .
I know the legend but none of the facts . If you don’t want to do it send it all to me and I’ll update the page for you.

Hi BJ.
I don’t have a dented ego, and am happy to be reined in whenever you see fit. If I was one of the ones you were referring to.
I do enjoy your site and as we had the bye today am rather interested in some results.
I usually find out in the bar after the game but as I am at home wondering what to do on a Sat with no soccer I hoped somebody would have put the scores up by now.
I am suprised that there is not more traffic on this site, I have talked to a few people and encouraged their input, they are reading but not writing.
I wont be boosting your ego though, I don’t think it’s needed
Hugo…no, you’re cool mate. Have you noticed the Northern ‘report’ hasn’t appeared lately?? Who wrote that??
Comment by Hugo — June 16, 2007 @ 7:20 pm
BJ.
Yes I have missed it, come on Captain Australia keep the faith mate.
I know who it is but I guess names are not compulsory on this site so I wont say. ‘Captain Australia’ is all I will say, maybe you know who that is
Ahh, yeah I do know who Capt. Aust is…and he’s more than welcome to come on back. In fact I hope he would, as long as he wants to keep in mind that this place is a little different to the ‘forum’ he runs. Everyone is welcome here and just as I wouldn’t dance on his white leather lounge suit in my muddy boots (euphemism galore here) I hope he world afford me the same respect. BJ

4 out of 4 to exprez in the tips ! Score predictions a bit dodgy though.
But, then again, no one to tip against.
The top end of the league has tightened up with Sharks winning but Devonport still on top by a lot of goal difference. Knights continue to improve but whats happening to Rangers ?
At the beginning of the season top three (or better) was predicted by some but they will struggle to avoid the bottom three ! A couple of excellent wins but some very ordinary results as well.
Several opposition coaches have commented that their general field play is as good as any but they just don’t seem to have anywhere near enough shots at goal ?

Good to see a ref up from hobart for a big game on the notrth west coast,
who let the game flow with the advantage rule thanks soccer tas .
Comment by fullback — June 17, 2007 @ 1:09 am
Good comment fullback but when defender brings opposition player down just outside the box, stops a goal scoring opportunity and all that happens is a foul kick then I wonder if you would have the same comments if it was the other way round.
Apart from that it was a change from some card happy Northern refs.

I have returned after resolving a few differences.
.
I will endevor to return your weekly preveiw.
.
ExPrez, “what has happened to Rangers?” who could tell and if they could we would give them a great some of money. For some reason we cant creat clear cut goal scoring opps, much less finish them. Most weeks you could excuse a Ranger for getting on here and defending the senior side, telling all how we dominated but couldnt get that goal, this week we were just out played by a passionate Knights out fit who had 9 players out there that wanted the win as opposed to our 4 or 5. Strongest senior list up we have had in years yet we cant get them to work. At the end of the day, we still lack an out and out striker! Ambrose has not given what we had hoped he would, Kakadumane is sensational in mid field but infront of goals goes to water, Derek Schipper cant find his top gear! these are the problems we face. But what more can we do, just keep batteling and hope that our best year hasnt already past us by. We cant even blame injuries this year cause we havent had that bad a run with them? There is always next week!…….Oh and go the reserves!
Comment by Captain Australia — June 18, 2007 @ 4:57 pm
Good to have you back Captain Australia. Your comments re Rangers are similar to those I have heard elsewhere. You will need a string of wins from here on to keep in touch with the top half of the table. At least your Ressies are about 1-20 to win the title !
Comment by exprez — June 18, 2007 @ 6:43 pm
Yep, its our first real chance to win some of the mens silverware! we have to win 4 more a find a draw and its all done! Its taken 9 years but we are almost certainly gonna get something for all our hard work! I know some might be a little taken back by our confidence at such an early stage, but we as a club really need this! and everyone is on board to make it happen, not at the expense of the seniors though, they are still our top prioraty!
.
It will be a real tough second half for both squads though, we have 6 out of the squad for the away trip to Burnie and 7 out for Ulverstone! we are gonna really have to dig deep to get results out of those trips, but sometimes thats when everyone pulls together so it may turn out to be a blessing! we will se. bloody weddings in July!
Comment by Captain Australia — June 19, 2007 @ 8:35 am
Captain Australia we are relying, heavily, on Rangers to knock both Somerset and Devonport off their perches - i believe you are the only team capable. I think Ambrose should be played invariably in foward positions- mainly near the goals and have players pass balls in front of him. Let him use the pace and foot skills to win games for you. He is better than all the young players down south, without a doubt. You have many other fine players in the senior team as well- start winning!!
Comment by ben crosswell — June 20, 2007 @ 7:51 am
Crossa, would be an honour to hand the Championship to ya, we meet Dev and Somerset when we get our squads back after a string of unheard of winter weddings! which means we met you with 7 plyers unavailable, but as I said, that sometimes brings the best out in a club. we have a great record against Somerest and the boys are really mad about the lasst Dev result so hopefully they make a mens! Probably very true words about Ambrose, but I am but a wee secretary to the club, not a coach, and my coach dosent really rate my football know how, so maybe you should ring him and tell him how to get the most out of our squad, I know he is seaching for the answers! cheers for the greeting! com on you Rangers!
Comment by Captain Australia — June 20, 2007 @ 11:14 am
you are a bit hasty with your comments and advice Crossa, we play Rangers in a couple of weeks lol.
hopefully they will leave their winning for other teams!
