Player of the Year

Filed under: Uncategorized — Blackjack @ 3:56 pm

This will be a ’suck it and see’…’work in progress’…etc. So please be patient.

I am going to name 2-3 players per team (that have impressed me through the year) and I call on others to put names forward if I haven’t covered the whole story).

Once we have a working group I will ask punters to put forward their votes for ONE player in each of those teams. Once that list is finalised I will put up the final group as a full voting poll…but to vote you MUST be registered with this blog rather than just a ghost reader.

So here we go…(click on more)

  1. And the North BJ

Hugo, send me a list (via e-mail) according to you and I’ll put it up. We can work from there. I could put up a list of the players I know but that wouldn’t necessarily be the list of best players. :-) BJ

  2. BJ, i know the list is big but would like you to add a couple players.
    Brett Pullen
    Kenyi Emanuelli
Danijel Djekanovic (has probably set up half of Bulis and Grillas goals for Olympic).
Also McKenna? Didn’t his season end prematurely through injury?
Good to see Chris Tsakiris in there, finally got a full season out of him after living in Melbourne for a while and could poll quite well in the Vic Tuting. Lee Mason too after a sluggish start.

  3. Taroona’s two most consistent players have been Cian Carey and Marcus Atkinson. And it should be Felix Abetz, not Freddy (unless you mean Freddy Hess).

    Chris Cox??

  4. I reckon Chris Cox will rack up a heap of votes in Taroona’s B&F for the second half of the season.

  5. Take me out and put in Brett Andrews BJ

I tossed around the idea of putting in Andrews anyway. It’s ok Charlie, you deserve your place. No need to be coy or bashful. :-) BJ

  6. What about coach of the year? Team of the year? Worst team of the year? Club of the year? These possibly wouldn’t have to be Lapolla and the Zebras, could take into account things like squads and last years position? So perhaps teams like Taroona could win team of the year, South could win worst team and maybe South could also win club of the year as well haha considering their strength across Premier, Ressies and Div 1?
Would be a lot of extra work for you though BJ

Worst team of the year?? Get real!! How to win friends and influence people BJ

  7. More work for you BJ, how about looking also at who predicted the Zebras to win, who predicted the Knights to fall, Metro to finish bottom etc. There was a lot of interest in this at the start of the year.
Could be a good one to offer a reward for next year, who gets the most ladder positions correct.

    I’ll do that in a spare minute… ;-) BJ
