Players need to give the ref a break when the decision doesn't go their way, the ref needs to give a clear indication that he has seen the offence and is NOT going to blow for it with a clear play-on and referees need to maintain concentration on what they see and not be influenced by the appealing. Notably there was more than one instance where it was emphasisied that it depended upon the view that the referee (and / or assistant referee ) had of the incident.
