Andy Fraser from Lonnie won it in 1999 (George Dale that is). Chris Mckenna I think won it in 2001. Not sure about 2002

Found the article which says Oosterloo is no stranger to the award, having won it twice before in 2004 and 2005,

But did he win it alone?? BJ

I think you will find Wayne Boyd of Devonport won it in 2000.

Boyd won it in 1995, so 2000 was his second win?? BJ

The medal Chris McKenna shared with me was his third, there was also one in that gap which Adrian Beard and Andy Frazer shared, two more for osterloo, leaves one medal unclaimed and then we just have to find who belongs to which year.
What a shame that soccer Tas have been so bad at keeping records over the years, it would also be good to know how many games people have played over the years but that is I am sure, out of the question.

Most certainly not having a shot at you Walter..Amazed that FFT would task you with such a challenging job when records such as the best and fairest should have been in the FFT office somewhere.Doesnt bode well if keeping records such as these are not seen as important by the games custodians. Perhaps now we have the record it could go on an honour baord at the new FFT Showgrounds complex...As for Devonports Tom McGinn I am certain he will enjoy having another story to add to the 1992 yarn
where he thought he had won only to go down to D Stoddart..My friends from the coast say he just loves to tell that one...I am also pretty sure Ben is right about mckenna and oosterloo.I think I read an examiner story saying this year was oosterloo's third but I too cant recollect which years. My memory just like others fading..Yes BJ we are all human.

Interested spectator: I probably did make a mistake. It was probably late at night and I was tired. As I saw the name "Tom" I probably automatically typed in "Huigsloot" instead of McGinn because Huigie had won it the year before and his name was on the line above on my computer screen. That's no excuse, I know, and I'm sorry if I've offended anyone, particularly Tom McGinn. It is very important to be accurate when compiling history. I'm sure Blackjack and FFT will make the necessary amendment and set the record straight. Perhaps I should keep all the newspaper clippings so that I don't have to rely on a fallible memory. Can you imagine the space that would take? I don't think I had a computer in 1994 so I wouldn't have a copy of the story I wrote at the time. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!

Merely human...the same as the rest of us!! :-) BJ
